Kandis video is set to the song "Fields of Gold" by Eva Cassidy
8 weeks has flown by and our puppies are now old enough to fly the nest. I can't believe just how quickly this time has gone, it's completely unreal. As heart broken as I am to be saying goodbye to Sammy, Izzy and Pippin (although Izzy is staying another week with Carole) I can't wait to see your journeys and watch them thrive within your families. Both myself and Carole are so glad that we picked you to come on this journey with us, you're fantastic people who will do a fantastic job raising the next generation of English Shepherds. It was lovely to see them leave so happily with you, they didn't look back at all! I've had a couple of projects up my sleeve during these weeks, you all know I have been taking pictures of the puppies regularly, I mean how can you miss that news?! I have put these together with a song for each puppy. Kandis video is set to the song "Fields of Gold" by Eva Cassidy Sammys video is set to "Rise Like a Phoenix" by Conchita Wurst Izzys video is set to "Heart of Gold" by Neil Young Pippin, unfortunately I couldn't find a song relating to his kennel name so his video is set to "Everything That Glitters (Is Not Gold)" by Dan Seals. Ruaris video is set to "Golden Opportunity" by Ian Hunter Are you still with me? My final project, the one I'm most excited to share with you, over the past 8 weeks I have taken a short clip of video of most days of their lives and I have put them together for you all to watch them grow before your eyes. This video is set to "Golden Brown" by The Stranglers.

So puppies have had their health check before leaving us, everyone is healthy and in wonderful condition. They all travelled well in my van split into two groups, a little crying on the way to the vets but none on the way home. I'd advise taking a wee pad with you to either go on your lap or in a crate in the car as they did have a wee at some point.
We haven't weighed the puppies since they were 5 weeks old as they have been too big for us to weigh at home. There will be some difference between our scales and the ones at the vets but the weights we have been given aren't far off what I'd expect looking back at their previous progress. Soooo, the weights are as follows.... Kandi 5 weeks old - 2kg 970g (a gain of 585g from 4 weeks old) 7 weeks and 4 days old - 4kg 700g (a gain of 1kg 730g) Sammy 5 weeks old - 3kg 345g (a gain of 783g from 4 weeks old) 7 weeks and 4 days old - 5kg 500g (a gain of 2kg 115g) Izzy 5 weeks old - 2kg 880g (a gain of 670g from 4 weeks old) 7 weeks and 4 days old - 4kg 700g (a gain of 1kg 820g) Pippin 5 weeks old - 3kg 740g (a gain of 1kg 47g from 4 weeks old) 7 weeks and 4 days old - 6kg 140g (a gain of 2kg 400g) Ruari 5 weeks old - 3kg 775g (a gain of 1kg 53g from 4 weeks old) 7 weeks and 4 days old - 6kg 200g (a gain of 2kg 425g) So Ruari is still maintaining his lead as heaviest puppy and the two girls have evened out. The puppies will need worming once you get them home and will also need their vaccinations at some point but we advise you visit your vet within 72hrs for a quick check up so you can have a chat with them about it then. I'm really excited to announce that the photos from our shoot with The Dog Photographer are now live on his website! Please go here to purchase your own copies, while I don't mind you downloading the majority of the photos I post on this blog, website or facebook group please do not take these photos. http://www.thedogphotographer.co.uk/p255901099 Yesterday we had the volhard tests done and we finally picked homes for our puppies! I didn't manage to get everyone on video like I had hoped but I got some of Purples test for you to see. It was interesting to watch and the tester commented that our puppies, as you would expect of the breed, assessed everything before they jumped in and he was quite charmed when he watched them play together in the garden later on. So the news we have all been waiting for, I would like to introduce you all tooooooo....... Purple Pet name: Kandi Owner: Carole Green Pet name: Sammy Owner: Mira and Nathan Black Pet name: Izzy Owner: Tom and Harriet Orange Pet name: Pippin Owner: Evelyn, Richard and the kids Beige Pet name: Ruari Owner: Me, George!
